Palace of Culture and Sciense
The construction of PKiN began on 1 May 1952r. It was commissioned on 21 July 1955. Palace of culture consist of 44 floors and it is 237 m. height including the rooftop. That makes PKiN the second highest structure in Warsaw. The Palace is full of difference institutions. Connected with culture (theatres). Science (Museums) entertainment, and also education. The main structure of Warsaw is also a base for important Polish institutions. Different kinds of events and fabulous parties take place in PKiN. Sala Kongresowa is appropriate, this kind of occasions.
Observation deck is good place to visit. You will find there brilliant view of Warsaw. If someone wants something more place also offers visiting dungeons and few floors. During walking through dungeon tourist must we are helmets, before exploring you should book tickets earlier in box office.
Museum of doll houses is pretty original place to visit here. It consists 100 historical items. Even more interesting is gallery of steel figures. This is the first place in the world where you can find exception of steel figures.
Here you can enter into Jurassic World. This is possible by visiting an exhibition of dinosaurs. Beside of dinosaur’s skeleton you will find there fascinating reconstructions of terrestrial vertebrates.
Plenty of festivals are organized in Palace of Culture and Science. They are dedicated for different age groups. I am sure that everyone will find something for themselves. One of the closest festivals are Coffee FESTIVAL, CHOCOLATE AND SWEETS FESTIVAL.
Josef Stalin was the founder of PKiN. He wanted to give it to Polish community as a gift from Russia.
Architecture of tower was projected by Lew Rodniew. He wanted it to be similar to Polish architecture. Rudniew was ready to travel around Poland for inspiration and get to know Polish architecture.
